  • Organist/Music Associate, University United Methodist Church, Fort Worth, TX

    University United Methodist Church in Fort Worth is seeking a part-time Organist/Music Associate to begin October 1, 2010. Primary responsibilities will include playing for one weekly Sunday morning worship service and for Wednesday evening rehearsals, and for choral accompaniment that requires use of the organ, and / or piano. Additional services during the year will include Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Lessons & Carols, and Christmas Eve. Other duties include accompanying the Sanctuary Choir, Youth Ensemble, and Children’s Choir. Funerals and weddings will be available at an additional fee if desired.
    University United Methodist Church has a wonderful 2 manual twenty-seven rank Dan Garland pipe organ, installed in 1998. The organ consist of 1564 pipes and thirty-two level memory system. This particular worship service at University United Methodist Church is of a traditional format, utilizing multiple styles of music and creative instrumentation, including orchestra for special occasions and services. The organ, however, plays a major role in leading our weekly worship. The successful candidate will need to be a strong and creative congregational hymn accompanist.
    Salary is negotiable based upon experience.

    Youth Choir Director, 1st United Methodist Church, Denton, TX

    1st United Methodist Church, Denton, is seeking a part-time associate organist and youth choir director, beginning immediately.
    Preference will be given to candidates who can fill both positions but is not limited to those individuals.

    Responsibilities -

    (Youth choir director) - Provides artistic & musical leadership to mixed, SATB youth choir of 6th-12th singers, fostering team-building, growth, recruitment & retention. Choir performs ca. monthly in Sunday worship services. The choir is also an active part of the overall youth activities of the church. The Youth Choir Director will work closely with Youth Pastor to coordinate programming and planning for choir/mission trips, retreats, etc.

    (Associate Organist) - Provides majority of organ music (service music, hymns, anthem accompaniments, preludes, postludes) for 2 Sunday morning worship services as well as accompanying a Wednesday evening adult choir rehearsal. Presence at limited number of additional seasonal services is expected as well. Organ is a 1999 Bozeman tracker. Additional wedding & funeral work will be available.

    Congregation has a rich and varied musical history.

  • Organist, First United Methodist Church, Waxahachie, TX

    First United Methodist Church of Waxahachie, Texas is seeking an organist. Our organ was built by Wicks Organ Company (opus 6428), installed in May 2005. It includes 44 ranks, three manuals, a pedal board, and is built to AGO specifications. Primary responsibilities include serving as organist on a regular basis for our 8:30a.m. and 11:00a.m. traditional worship services and accompanying the choir on anthems that call for organ accompaniment. This position is separate from our piano accompanist. This position is available October 3, 2010.
